Float Trip On Buffalo National River
My friend Joy Earles recently went on a float trip with her family on Buffalo National River. She did not carry her best camera, but the photo above (taken with her cell phone camera) is a decent shot. Ahhhh ... such beautiful greenery, with shade and cliffs surrounding the river. What a great way to spend a lazy, hazy summer day in Arkansas! (June 21, 2010) Grandpa's Old Barn In Evening Shade, Arkansas
This is my grandfather's barn on our family farm in Evening Shade, Arkansas. My grandfather was the postmaster and mail carrier there and my Mom grew up there and came back to retire. Sadly, they tore down the dilapidated barn two years ago. Some of the wood was used as an addition in their house and now the site is a beautiful garden. -Photo and commentary by Kim W. in north central Arkansas. Here blog is: Kim's Point of View. (June 8, 2010) Arkansas Sunset - Shades Of Pink In The Sky
My friend Kim in northern Arkansas was driving home from work on a summer evening in 2007 and noticed this stunning sunset. This particular road is College Drive outside of Ash Flat, located in north central Arkansas. So beautiful! Kim has an interesting and well-designed blog about her life. It is named Kim's Point of View. -Steve (June 7, 2010) My Six Items Of Arkansas Razorback Clothing
I felt inspired to create an Arkansas Razorbacks Fashion Show that featured all of my Arkansas shirts, including a hoodie and jacket. Above is a stitched photo of all six items in my wardrobe. Go get 'em Hogs! Go Arkansas! Go Razorbacks! Woooooo ... Pig! Souuie! I'm hopeful the football team will have a better season in 2010! :) -Steve (June 2, 2010) Big Bluff - Buffalo National River
I hiked last year in the Buffalo National River region in northwest Arkansas. Among the many trails, I journeyed to the edge of Big Bluff, a large rock face along the canyon. You can see the Buffalo River flowing in the bottom left of this photo. The trailhead for this particular hike is located north of Ponca on Highway 43. -Steve (April 30, 2010)
